Striker Amauri has thanked Parma for handing him what may be the last contract of his career.
“I'm happy to have signed and have silenced the voices who suggested that I would be leaving,” the Brazilian-born Italian international told the club’s website.
“As I said a year ago when I came back here, Amauri joined Parma to stay and that is the case,” he added after putting pen to paper on a new deal until 2016.
“I will stay here until I will be 36, so I’ll practically end my career here.
“I'm happy to repay the faith that this club has given me. I thank President Tommaso Ghirardi and director Pietro Leonardi.
“Now I’m thinking about next season and doing even better than I did in this League campaign, especially as it will be Parma’s centenary.”
Amauri joined the Stadio Tardini outfit for the third time in his career last summer after his six-month deal at Fiorentina expired.
The 32-year-old ended the campaign as the club’s top scorer in Serie A thanks to 10 goals in 33 games.
