Sergio Floccari took a sideswipe at rivals Roma after the Coppa Italia victory. “The best team won and Lazio have a different style...”
“The last few days have been full of so many emotions and we are enjoying all of them,” Floccari told Lazio Style Radio.
“We are in the history books and made sure we were ready for this appointment. The club and fans dealt with the tension in the best way possible and deserved this success.
“In the last few seconds of the match it was so tough; I couldn’t sit on the bench. I saw the team was sharp and able to stay in control of the situation.
“We played a great game and the best team won.”
Roma are in chaos after that defeat, as Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has been dropped from Italy’s Confederations Cup squad after hurling abuse at Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli, then continuing the insults via Twitter.
The ultras meanwhile threw rocks, eggs and other objects at the team bus after the Final.
“It was particularly special for me, as a few derbies ago I was the subject of many jokes and insults after missing a penalty,” added Floccari.
“On the other hand, you can tell over the last few days that Lazio have a different style... Our fans are mature, so they can suffer and show love for the team above all in the difficult moments. I must thank them.”
