Alberto Malesani faces Juventus this evening and has no doubts which star he'd bring over to Bologna. “If we had someone like Alessandro Matri...”
The Coach has a very tough campaign on his hands to avoid relegation despite near-bankruptcy and the docking of three points due to those financial irregularities.
“I am not looking for a reaction to Wednesday's defeat, as the team is playing well,” he said of the 1-0 result against Roma.
“I re-watched that game three times and got very angry, because it confirmed to me that the media read it wrong. We lost when Casarini lost the ball, but other than that he was one of the best players.
“Daniele De Rossi should've been sent off for his handling offence and he admitted that in our situation, he would've protested too. I think that if it were the other way round, there would have been a trial by media into that incident.”
Malesani is taking that confidence into the Turin match, even though Bologna haven't won here for 30 years.
“There's always a first time. We are playing well and I see no reason why we shouldn't continue. Personally, I have already achieved some important results in Turin.”
The one problem with Bologna at the moment is the fact Marco Di Vaio has not scored for four rounds and the team's dependence on him for goals is showing.
“I said a while ago that we needed a reinforcement in attack, someone who was physically strong, but due to the financial problems we didn't get anyone. If we had someone like Matri...”
