Milan are reportedly close to completing their swoop for Sampdoria midfielder Andrea Poli.
The links have been active for several months and Sky Sport Italia claim a deal is only hours away.
The 23-year-old has his second stint at San Siro, having played for Inter on loan in 2011-12, but the Nerazzurri did not take up their option.
He returned to Sampdoria and impressed this season with three goals in 31 Serie A appearances.
Poli also scored his first senior Italy goal in last month’s 4-0 friendly win over San Marino.
The move is aimed at bringing down the average age of the Milan squad, as they released 36-year-old Massimo Ambrosini.
