Inter could get Alberto Gilardino after Bologna complained Genoa’s expectations are “unacceptable.”
The veteran striker is still owned by Genoa and spent this season on loan at Bologna, but negotiations to make the move permanent have hit problems.
“It is unacceptable, as Genoa want to paint us into a corner,” Bologna President Albano Guaraldi told La Repubblica.
Instead, the Dall’Ara side are looking towards Rolando Bianchi, who is a free agent after his contract with Torino was allowed to expire.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that this scenario is opening the door for Gilardino to join Inter over the summer.
This link has already been reported for several weeks, but is stronger than ever if Bologna pull out of negotiations.
Gila is currently on international duty with Italy at the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
