Parma striker Ishak Belfodil, in negotiations with Italian giants Inter, wants to have an international future with Algeria.
The 21-year-old was born in the African country, but he has represented a number of French youth sides at international level to date.
“He wants to play for Algeria,” agent George Atangana told L’Equipe. “I think now is the right time for him to be called him up.
“Should Coach Vahid Halilhodzic select him then Ishak will respond to the call.”
The young forward caught the eye at the Stadio Tardini in the last campaign, enough for Inter to make a bid for his services.
The San Siro outfit are ready to offer Antonio Cassano and Matias Silvestre as part of their bid for the player.
