QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar is now linked with Napoli, as Morgan De Sanctis is reportedly close to Roma.
The former Inter shot-stopper will be released by the club after their relegation from the Premier League and a return to Serie A is likely.
While up until now Roma had been the main contenders, Napoli have suddenly entered the fray for Julio Cesar’s signature.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Brazilian was requested by new Coach Rafa Benitez and a formal approach has been made.
The veteran would help newcomer Rafael – who is on his way from Santos for €5m – to settle into Serie A.
The door was opened to Julio Cesar after current Napoli goalkeeper De Sanctis was linked with Roma.
It’s reported the Giallorossi would get De Sanctis almost for free and offer a two-year contract.
De Sanctis retired from the Italy squad in March on his 36th birthday.
