Jose Mourinho already wanted Daniele De Rossi at Inter and Real Madrid, so now he’s raising Chelsea’s offer to £15m.
Roma have made it clear the midfielder – nicknamed ‘Future Captain’ – is available for the right price.
De Rossi had been a target when Mourinho was at Inter and Real Madrid, but the player has never seemed closer to a departure than now.
His rapport with the Giallorossi supporters took a hit and he was subject to protests after the Coppa Italia Final defeat to Lazio in May.
Chelsea had already prepared a £10m offer, but the Daily Express claimed this weekend that it was going to be increased to £15m.
The 29-year-old has 84 caps for Italy and impressed at the Confederations Cup. He has also been linked with Real Madrid and PSG.
