Atalanta director general Pierpaolo Marino has confirmed the capture of free agent Mario Yepes.
The Colombian is available on a Bosman after his contract with Italian giants Milan expired in the month of June.
“We’re happy and he will arrive with great enthusiasm,” the official noted. “He’s really motivated to do well, especially with the World Cup next summer.
“He wants to have a great season.”
The centre-back, now 37, has been in Italy since his 2008 transfer from French outfit Paris Saint-Germain to Chievo.
The stopper spent two seasons in Verona before his 2010 switch to San Siro.
