Fiorentina chief Andrea Della Valle confirmed Josip Ilicic will join from Palermo “and the surprises aren’t over yet.”
The Slovenian international agreed a transfer worth €9m plus performance-related bonuses  and is due for a medical over the next 24 hours. A statement released on the club website also confirmed the deal pending a medical and contract signing ceremony.
“Ilicic will arrive and the surprises aren’t over yet,” declared Della Valle to cheering Viola fans at their pre-season training camp in Moena.
“We will reinforce the midfield and make this team even stronger.”
Fiorentina have been extremely active on the transfer market this summer, bringing in the likes of Mario Gomez from Bayern Munich, Joaquin, Marcos Alonso, Massimo Ambrosini and Oleksander Iakovenko.
