Pre-season preparations continued this afternoon with Udinese fighting back in heavy rain to beat Monfalcone 4-1.
Antonio Di Natale and Luis Muriel were still absent and the Friulani went behind to the Serie D side, but Widmer netted a brace with Matej Vydra and Matias Ranegie also on target.
Andrea Coda, Ranegie and Vydra also hit the woodwork.
Atalanta beat Lumezzane 3-1 with goals from Giulio Migliaccio, Maxi Moralez and Daniele Baselli.

Catania defeated a local amateur side 10-0 with Alejandro Gomez and Maxi Lopez both scoring hat-tricks just as reports suggest they are heading out of the Elefantini.
Gonzalo Bergessio, Maks Barisic, Antonio Donarumma and an own goal completed the rout.
Parma put 13 goals past a local side with Stefano Okaka Chuka bagging four, Alberto Cerri a hat-trick and one each for Raffaele Palladino, Djamel Mesbah, Aleandro Rosi, Stefano Morrone, Raman Chibsah and Sotiris Ninis.
Sampdoria flattened Santhia 6-1, as Manolo Gabbiadini and Eder had a brace each, plus Shkodran Mustafi and Pawel Wszolek on target.
Bologna had a game between ranks, as Rolando Bianchi, Francesco Della Rocca, Denis Alibec and Davide Moscardelli found the net.
Other results were not so reassuring, as Genoa were held to a 0-0 draw by Greek side AEL Kallonis. Coach Fabio Liverani adopted a 4-3-3 system, but Alberto Gilardino and Andreas Granqvist did not take part.
Torino could not earn more than a goalless stalemate against Lecco, although Danilo D’Ambrosio came closest when hitting the woodwork.
