Roma are reportedly ready to improve their Gervinho offer after a previous bid was rejected by Arsenal.
It had been claimed in Italian papers that talks hit a brick wall this week when the Gunners turned down a proposal worth €7.2m – approximately £6.2m.
The Giallorossi have not lost hope and are determined to sign the Ivory Coast international striker, who Arsenal value at €9m - £7.7m.
Gervinho has been specifically requested by new Roma Coach Rudi Garcia, as they worked together at Lille.
According to SportItalia, the Serie A club is prepared to raise its offer to €8m – approximately £6.9m.
Sky Sport Italia maintain the bare bones of a deal have been settled, with details to be completed next week.
Negotiations continue and Roma would be willing to include Pablo Daniel Osvaldo as part of an exchange deal.
Arsenal need a new striker and have seen their £40m offer for Luis Suarez rejected by Liverpool.
