Francesco Guidolin slammed Udinese after a 5-2 defeat to Atalanta , just days ahead of the Europa League play-offs. “Concentration must be absolute.”
The Friulani were beaten in Bergamo last night for the Trofeo Bortolotti, though played the entire second half with 10 men after goalkeeper Ivan Kelava was sent off.
“If at the 44th minute of the first half you’d told me we would lose 5-2, I would never have believed it,” the Coach told Udinese Channel.
“It was all going well, but suddenly we went a goal and a man down. The incident made us irritable and we lost our shape.
“This should not be happening, as concentration must be absolute if we are going to challenge our opponents.
“We won’t talk about the referee or seek alibis, as it was our fault for falling apart like that. Kelava? He had a misunderstanding with the officials.”
The result is still a concern, as Udinese face Siroki Brijeg in the Europa League preliminary round on August 1 and 8.
“It’s better we concede five goals now rather than next week...”
