Fiorentina will hold talks with the agent of Adem Ljajic on Wednesday in an effort to renew his contract.
The forward’s future is in doubt given that he is only tied to the outfit until June 2014. If he doesn’t sign an extension then he would be available on a free transfer next summer.
Representative Fali Ramadani is set to meet with Viola director Mario Cognini to discuss possible terms.
Mediaset claim that the 21-year-old is asking for a significant pay increase. Currently on €750,000 a season, he allegedly wants €2m a campaign.
The Viola are willing to offer him a basic salary of €1m per campaign, plus certain bonuses.
There is also a difference of opinion with regard to the rescission fee clause which both parties want to include in the contract.
The player wants that set at €10m, but the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit believe it should be as high as €16m.
Milan and Tottenham are just two of the clubs who are monitoring the player’s situation in Tuscany.
