Former Fiorentina Coach Emiliano Mondonico believes that the Viola will fight Juventus for the Scudetto next season.
The Stadio Artemio Franchi side have brought in Mario Gomez and Massimo Ambrosini, amongst others this summer.
And the 66-year-old is confident that Vincenzo Montella's men can challenge the Bianconeri for silverware.
“I think that Fiorentina are second only to Juventus,” he told TuttoMercatoWeb. “I can see a great rivalry forming between the Viola and the Bianconeri.
“But Napoli are also another team who have reinforced and will be near the top of the table.
“I think Mario Gomez can do well. He is 25,000 people on his side, and because of that he'll do well.
“He almost has an obligation to the Florentine public.”
