Alberto Cavasin believes he got the caretaker job at Sampdoria because he is the best choice.
The 55-year-old replaced Domenico Di Carlo this week, signing a four-month contract.
Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, he was asked why Sampdoria thought to appoint him.
"Because I was the best choice that they could make," he said.
"I have confidence in myself. Who doesn't call me, doesn't know me and who knows me, calls me.
"I have been relegated once, with Brescia, in a year in which the League table was changed by the Calciopoli scandal.
"Wherever I've been they have spoken of a miracle. My average points ratio has always been superior to that of who has gone before and after me. That's the truth.
"Sampdoria are a different team from the others. They have style and a different way of living football.
"That shirt, the players, the Presidents and the fans have made something beautiful with many fairytale moments in our football.
"That's what Samp is for me," he concluded.
