Bologna centre-forward Robert Acquafresca is attracting more interest from England, including Sunderland and Hull City.
The striker has returned from a six-month loan spell in Spain with Levante and had also been linked with Livorno in Serie A.
Reports had emerged this week of interest from Hull City, but now Paolo Di Canio’s Sunderland have also joined the race.
Bologna are eager to part company with Acquafresca, as he is not part of Coach Stefano Pioli’s plans.
He turns 26 next month and has dual Italian-Polish citizenship.
