Riccardo Montolivo has welcomed the additions of Andrea Poli and Matias Silvestre to the Milan squad.
The Italian has arrived on a co-ownership from Sampdoria, while the centre-back has joined on loan from Inter.
“Poli is a midfielder of quality and quantity,” the former Fiorentina captain told Milan Channel. “He’s a concrete player who will be very useful.
“There are a lot of us in the middle, but it means we are well covered in that particular area of the field.
“As for Silvestre, he did well in the recent game against Chelsea. He has only just arrived, but he has immediately fitted well into the mechanisms of the team.”
Although not strictly a new capture, Montolivo also underlined the importance of Nigel De Jong’s return from serious injury.
“He’s one of the players who is in the best form right now,” the 28-year-old continued. “He’s really fired up after his long spell on the sidelines. He’s an important ‘signing’ for us.”
