Maxi Lopez could be making a surprise return to Milan on loan from Catania, a year after they turned down an option to sign him.
The Argentine striker was expected to join Al Nasr this week, but the transfer collapsed at the last minute.
According to Sport Mediaset, the situation could work in Milan’s favour, as they are looking for a forward during injury problems for Robinho and Giampaolo Pazzini.
Maxi Lopez is no stranger to the Rossoneri, as he spent six months there on loan from January to June 2012.
He scored two goals in 11 games for the club, but they did not take up their option to buy him outright.
The 29-year-old spent last season on loan at Sampdoria, netting five times in 18 matches, but again he returned to Catania.
