Milan’s Mario Balotelli is a doubt for Wednesday’s international friendly between Italy and Argentina.
The striker has picked up a problem to his right knee which has cast uncertainty over his presence at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow night.
It is the same knee which required surgery in September 2010 as a result of a meniscus issue.
“We’ll evaluate the situation over the next 48 hours,” Italy team doctor Enrico Castellacci stated. “It is nothing serious, but we don’t usually take risks with players.”
Milan will want the Azzurri to proceed with caution, given that the Diavolo have two ties against PSV Eindhoven on the horizon as they look to qualify for the Champions League group stages.
