Erik Lamela’s agents are reportedly in Madrid for talks with Tottenham while Spurs are there to sell Gareth Bale.
The Roma striker is a €35m (£30m) transfer target for Spurs and negotiations have been going on all week in London.
Last night Giallorossi director Walter Sabatini left England , but it’s now reported the talks continued elsewhere.
As Tottenham chief Franco Baldini is in Madrid to discuss the final details of Bale’s record-shattering £93m cash move to Real Madrid, Sky Sport Italia claim Lamela’s agents have also flown to Spain.
There, they are working out the personal terms on a six-year contract worth an initial £2m per season and rising.
Tension is therefore expected tonight when Roma present their squad to the fans at the Stadio Olimpico.
While Pablo Daniel Osvaldo was a popular sale due to his poor relationship with the ultras, losing Lamela would be very much frowned upon.
