Davide Ballardini prepares to face his former club and holds no ill will towards Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini.
The Genoa boss was one of many tacticians fired by Zamparini, the latest being Delio Rossi two weeks ago.
“The Association of Coaches should build a statue to Zamparini! He has hired so many of our colleagues,” joked Ballardini.
“I can only speak highly of the President, as he brought me to an important club like Palermo in a beautiful city. I maintain I was respected and appreciated there.
“We are facing a strong opponent with top class players who are motivated to change path. To limit figures like Javier Pastore, we must remain united and double up the marking.”
Genoa have Antonio Floro Flores available after his two-match ban for insulting the fourth official was halved on appeal.
“I am happy to have all our strikers back, with the exception of the injured Mattia Destro. Now we have a specific shape and can continue with those ideas.
“During the week we studied the slip-ups against Catania and Inter. We conceded due to mistakes and always risk collapsing if we don't keep the right level of concentration.”
