Giuseppe Rossi has admitted that Fiorentina are ‘lucky to have’ Mario Gomez after his arrival from Bayern Munich.
The Germany international joined the Viola from the Bundesliga champions this summer, and the Italian goalscorer has insisted that his side’s attacking threat can serve them well this term.
“We are fortunate to have Gomez,” he told the official Serie A website. “He is a great champion.
“But we also have the likes of Ljajic, Cuadrado and Joaquin.
“The group is new, and we must find an understanding – that is our goal.”
The forward then commented on his recent injuries woes, which have seen him miss the best part of two years.
“After two serious injuries I feel well again. It was really important for me to play the last 20 minutes of the final game of last season.
“It felt wonderful after working so hard to get back.
“I felt like a footballer again.”
