Milan will be looking to exorcise their Week 1 loss at Verona when they take on PSV Eindhoven in midweek.
The Rossoneri surprisingly lost 2-1 to the newly promoted club on Saturday in the opening fixture of the Serie A season.
“We wanted to start well, but we didn’t manage it,” Poli, who opened the scoring in the fixture, told Milan Channel.
“The loss was a bad performance. We played well for the first 20 minutes, then after the goal we relaxed a bit and that’s no good.
“The loss has been analysed and we want to put it behind us as soon as we can starting on Wednesday.
“Luckily we have another big game coming up against PSV and we can get back on track.”
The Rossoneri will take on the Dutch with the aim of reaching the group stages of the Champions League. The first leg last week ended 1-1.
“We have a lot of games ahead of us and Wednesday’s will be fundamental,” the summer signing from Sampdoria added.
“We played a positive game in the first leg, but we know we’ll be up against a good team. We have to get through at all costs and we have all the right ingredients to do it as well.”
