Fiorentina chief Andrea Della Valle has conceded Adem Ljajic will probably be sold before the transfer window closes.
The Serbian international has turned down the offer of a new contract in Tuscany and the club want to sell rather than risk losing him on a Bosman next summer.
“We will resolve the Ljajic situation,” Della Valle stated after the 2-1 win over Catania on Monday. “Hopefully as soon as possible.”
Milan have had an offer turned down for the forward, but a switch to the San Siro outfit seems to still be a possibility.
“The chances of a Milan move? I won’t say no to anything,” Della Valle continued. “Ljajic will almost certainly leave Florence though, there will be no repeat of the Riccardo Montolivo situation.”
The latter joined the Diavolo a year ago on a Bosman after allowing his contract at the Stadio Franchi to run down.
Ljajic is also understood to be on the transfer radar of a Roma side who have sold Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and are on the verge of waving goodbye to Erik Lamela as well.
The youngster, who was left out of the Viola squad for Week 1, could also be targeted by Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
