German club Schalke have confirmed Milan’s Kevin Prince Boateng is in Germany ahead of a surprise move.
The attacking midfielder will have his medical on Friday after the two clubs agreed a transfer. Whispers suggest the Diavolo will net between €10m and €12m for the player.
Boateng’s imminent exit has fuelled rumours that the Italian club are making room for Real Madrid’s Kaka.
The San Siro giants could also make another attempt to sign Keisuke Honda from CSKA Moscow.
Boateng has been on the market all summer and was also paired with a possible switch to Monaco.
However, it seemed that he would stay in the end – especially after he scored twice in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over PSV Eindhoven.
That victory allowed the Diavolo entry into the group stages of the Champions League, thus providing funds to make some late squad changes.
They’ve already done a deal to sign Alessandro Matri from Juventus for a fee in the region of €11m.
