Milan have completed the transfer of Juventus striker Alessandro Matri. “I’ve always dreamed of the No 9 shirt.”
The Italian international has joined the Diavolo following their progression to the group stages of the Champions League.
Matri, who has cost the San Siro giants €11m, returns to Milan after spending his teen years in their youth system.
“I’m happy to be back,” the forward, who Juventus signed from Cagliari in January 2011, commented this afternoon.
“I pushed for this move to happen despite the interest of other clubs in me,” the man who was also linked with Napoli and Roma added.
“Juventus remain the strongest side, but we will cause them problems.”
Matri, 29, will wear the No 9 shirt for his new club. “It is the jersey which I dreamed of as a kid, when the likes of Pippo Inzaghi and George Weah were playing.”
