The agent of Palermo ‘keeper Stefano Sorrentino has admitted he failed in his attempts to find his client a Serie A club.
The custodian was linked with the likes of Fiorentina, Torino and Roma, amongst others, but no move occurred this summer.
“It was a strange transfer market session,” Andrea D’Amico told Sky Sport Italia. “There are a lot of clubs who have decided to take gambles on goalkeepers, a very delicate role.
“That is the reason why I was not able to place Stefano in Serie A, something which I personally wanted to do.”
The 34-year-old left Chievo for Palermo in January, but he was unable to keep them in the top flight.
