Leaving Inter just weeks after his arrival was never an option for Ishak Belfodil, the striker has insisted.
The Algerian international joined the Nerazzurri from Parma this summer, but there were claims that boss Walter Mazzarri was ready to let him leave for Sassuolo.
“There was nothing in that,” the forward told Competition in his homeland. “The club went as far as to officially deny the stories too.
“It’s true that Sassuolo were interested, they were following me before Inter came along. However, nobody at Inter told me they had any intention of sending me on loan to another club.
“I’m happy at Inter and I’m happy with my debut in the championship.”
The youngster made his debut as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Catania after missing out on the Week 1 action.
“I’m happy with my performance,” he added. “I gave my all, it is just a shame that I wasn’t able to score.
“The most important thing though was that we won. I want to keep growing and earn a place in the starting XI.”
