Sampdoria midfielder Angelo Palombo has conceded that all the team’s focus is on beating Genoa next Sunday.
The Derby della Lanterna takes place on September 15, and the 31-year-old has admitted that his side will do all they can to beat their city rivals.
“We have just over a week, and we want to use that time to be as well prepared as possible,” he told Corriere Mercantile.
“We have to go into this game with the right attitude to try and achieve the result we want.
“Hopefully we can make ourselves and the fans happy.
“I can remember all the derbies that haven’t gone our way. They are all part of my experiences at Samp.
“But the wins leave an extraordinary emotion.”
