Livorno midfielder Leandro Greco has backed former club Roma to be the surprise package of the 2013-14 campaign.
The Giallorossi have struggled over the last two seasons, but they have made a bright start under new boss Rudi Garcia.
In Week 1, they beat Greco’s new club 2-0 in a performance which the summer signing from Olympiacos was impressed by.
“Roma have a different kind of attitude,” the midfielder told Tele Radio Stereo on Monday afternoon.
“They seem to enjoy themselves when they play football and they gave the impression that they believe in their ability.
“They also had a sporting nastiness which leads me to believe that they will be the revelation of the season.”
Livorno, now back in the top flight, recovered from their opening day setback by then collecting a 4-1 triumph at Sassuolo.
“That win could have unblocked us as we have a lot of players who are tasting Serie A for the first time,” the Italian added.
“I think we can cause a lot of sides problems this term.”
Livorno will entertain Catania this weekend.
