Inter stopper Juan Jesus believes new boss Walter Mazzarri is developing him into a better player.
“I’m growing with every training session and game thanks to Mazzarri,” the Brazilian told Inter Channel when asked about the former Napoli tactician.
“He is teaching me so much, both defensively and offensively – I can only thank him.”
Mazzarri has brought his trademark three-man defence to the San Siro, but Juan isn’t assured of a first team shirt.
“The competition for places is good. There is Marco Andreolli, Andrea Ranocchia, Walter Samuel, Hugo Campagnaro… It’s just a shame that [the injured] Cristian Chivu isn’t here as he has a lot of quality.”
The Beneamata have started the season well, but their ability will be tested when champions Juventus arrive on Saturday.
“We need to beat Juventus, just like we would have to beat Milan or Sassuolo,” the 22-year-old continued.
“They have a lot of good players. There is Carlos Tevez, Fernando Llorente, Mirko Vucinic, but we can’t just focus on their attackers.
“Arturo Vidal, for example, knows how to break into attack and then there is Andrea Pirlo who is so good on the ball.”
