Fiorentina’s Ante Rebic has quickly dismissed comparisons between himself and Croatia legend Alen Boksic.
“I was young when he was still playing,” the 19-year-old commented when asked about the former Lazio and Juventus forward.
“I know of his value as a footballer, but I have completely different characteristics to him,” continued the Croatia Under-21 international.
Rebic joined the Viola in the summer after the club agreed to pay RNK Split a transfer fee in the region of €5m.
“I see Fiorentina as a choice in order to improve my career,” added the striker who will primarily be used as a back-up to the likes of Giuseppe Rossi and Mario Gomez.
“I’m happy with the competition for places here as I didn’t have that in Split.
“My strengths? My speed and my aggressiveness are my best qualities.”
