Inter chief Massimo Moratti has called for focus ahead of the Sassuolo game amidst reports that he has agreed to sell the club.
The oil baron is understood to be on the verge of selling a 70 per cent stake in the Beneamata to Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir.
But, speaking with the club website on Friday, he doesn’t want the off-field talk to affect the on-field performances.
“It seems that over the last few days football has been overshadowed by all the attention surrounding other matters at club level, which, as I said yesterday, continue to move ahead as we get to know each other ,” Moratti noted.
“Inter are the team who have to play against Sassuolo, a side new to Serie A brimming with enthusiasm.
“They’re an opponent we should fear because results are never decided in advance and often you find that the emotional factor makes a big difference in games.”
The Nerazzurri have made a bright start to the season thanks to the summer arrival of boss Walter Mazzarri.
“I know we have a Coach capable of instilling the right level of focus in the players,” Moratti continued.
“That's something Mazzarri is very good at, and I'd like to see the same level of quality, strength and determination that we saw against Juventus.”
