Milan chief Adriano Galliani insists the result of the game against Napoli won’t be too significant at this stage of the season.
The two teams will meet at San Siro on Sunday where the Azzurri will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent record.
“The result won’t be decisive,” the official said on Friday. “I remember last season that everyone was saying that we were dead, but we still managed to get into the Champions League.
“Are Napoli the anti-Juve? I don’t know as it’s too early. Napoli have started the campaign well, but it is hard to judge in mid September.
“The championship will end in the middle of May…”
Galliani was also asked about the likely sale of city rivals Inter, with owner Massimo Moratti set to give Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir a 70 per cent controlling stake.
“It could be a good start for Serie A. Football has changed, we have to be aware of that. There are great resources in certain countries of the world, but not in Italy.
“In England there are 14 sides who don’t have English owners. It’s globalisation.”
