Rafa Benitez is eyeing a Juan Mata reunion at Napoli after Jose Mourinho criticised the Chelsea benchwarmer.
The midfielder has barely played this season and was even left out of the squad for their match with Fulham on Saturday.
“Juan has to learn to play the way I want to play,” explained Mourinho.
“He has to be more consistent, has to be more participative when the team loses the ball, and I think it is not his fault. It is just a consequence of the way he played in the last few years.”
The Sunday Mirror today claims that Rafa Benitez is offering Mata a way out of Stamford Bridge by inviting him to join Napoli in January.
Mata was voted Player of the Year during Benitez’s reign with the Blues, so a reunion would be a welcome switch for the 25-year-old.
