“Catania fought to the end for Europa League qualification last season, so I doubt they have changed that much in six months,” noted Sannino.
“They’re just going through a tough time, so we must stay balanced and understand every moment of the match. We know it will be an inferno in Catania and we above all have to play in terms of character.
“It is easy to prepare motivation for this match – just put Catania in black and white striped shirts.”
Chievo had taken the lead against Juventus on Wednesday, but eventually lost 2-1 after Alberto Paloschi’s goal was incorrectly disallowed.
The club showed great class and fair play by reassuring the linesman that mistakes could happen.
“This ought to be a normal gesture that we shouldn’t even have to talk about. What interests me is that each of us keep the Chievo spirit then, at the end of the season, we’ll see if we contributed to safety.”
