Milan’s Andrea Poli has dismissed the idea that tiredness was a factor in their 1-1 draw at Ajax on Tuesday.
The Rossoneri conceded a late goal, but a controversial injury-time penalty from Mario Balotelli salvaged a Champions League point.
“I don’t think we were tired,” the summer signing from Sampdoria commented. “We had a lot of chances and so I don’t think it makes sense to talk about the team being fatigued.
“The excuse of absent players can’t be used either. We have a lot of players and the squad is a rich one, one which gives us a lot of options.
“We gave something away in the first half and Ajax are very good on the ball. We did better in the second half and came close to scoring a few times.
“We conceded in the 90th minute after having conceded very little, but, again this evening, after going behind and it’s not the first time this has happened to us, we managed to get back into the game.”
