Fiorentina Coach Vincenzo Montella believes Giuseppe Rossi will be able to play against Lazio tomorrow night.
The Viola visit the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for a match preview.
Both teams are fresh from difficult Europa League away games, as Lazio drew 3-3 with Trabzonspor and Fiorentina won 2-1 at Dnipro.
“Lazio are more or less in the same position as we are, having done quite well last season and coming off tough trips around Europe. It will be important for both to recover physical and mental energy,” said Montella in his Press conference.
“This is an important match against an important team in an important stadium. I therefore doubt either side will be lacking motivation.”
Massimo Ambrosini scored the winner in Ukraine on Thursday and is proving to be a huge success at the age of 36.
“Ambrosini does not surprise me, as he always has great enthusiasm and is very professional. He gives the team a great deal in terms of technique, behaviour and character.”
Rossi limped off during the 2-2 draw with Parma and missed the Dnipro game, but could well feature against Lazio. He has extra motivation, as that would prove his fitness for an Italy recall after two years of an injury nightmare.
“I haven’t spoken to Cesare Prandelli yet, though I don’t know whether the medical staff has had contact with the Azzurri doctors. Pepito wants to get back into the Nazionale and he doesn’t have to prove anything. I am confident he’ll be available.”
