Massimo Ambrosini has a new lease of life at Fiorentina and can’t wait to face Lazio tonight. “I feel like a kid again.”
The 36-year-old was released by Milan at the end of his contract and has proved to be a key figure in the Viola midfield, even scoring the winner in a 2-1 Europa League result away to Dnipro on Thursday.
“This Fiorentina side makes me feel like a kid again,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“We can also create a specific style of play. The difficult times are still to come, as over the next five rounds we will face Lazio, Juventus, Napoli and Milan.”
It begins this evening at the Stadio Olimpico at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT). Click here for a match preview.
“On the one hand it’s a scary run of fixtures, but on the other we’re going to have a lot of fun! After those results, we will have a clearer idea on our objectives for the season.
“The Europa League win was important, because it helped to wipe out a difficult few weeks.”
