Verona boss Andrea Mandorlini has claimed that ‘old man’ Luca Toni can fight for a place in Italy’s World Cup squad.
Francesco Totti has been attracting media attention recently for his performances, but the Giallorossi Coach has insisted that his veteran could make the plane to Brazil.
“Totti in the national team? We also have an old man that is doing very well,” he told Rtl 102.5.
“And he is called Luca Toni.
“They are two players who have decided their own paths.
“It is clear that if they both go on like this, they certainly deserve a call-up by Prandelli for the World Cup.”
Toni has netted three goals in five appearances so far this term.
