Vincenzo Montella says Roma “are enjoying” Francesco Totti's current form after scoring his 201st Serie A goal.
The Giallorossi captain netted twice to snatch a point in the 2-2 draw away to Fiorentina this afternoon.
“Totti is playing at a very high level and we are enjoying his form,” said Montella. “He has accustomed us to incredible personal achievements.
“We are training intensely and finished the game stronger than Fiorentina. You can see a constant improvement from the lads and they seem to enjoy the new training methods.”
The Coach has maintained Claudio Ranieri's rotation system for the strikers, dropping Marco Borriello when Totti starts.
“They are not incompatible, but at this moment it's best to keep them separate. Borriello is giving his best and I publicly thank him, as he is proving to be a great professional.”
Montella remains unbeaten in Serie A since replacing Ranieri and Roma are considering a more permanent contract.
“I think a Coach should be evaluated every day by many people within the club. My work is judged by what I achieve on the field, which includes the training field and not just the pitch you play on.
“I don't think the position in the table is all you require to judge a Coach. One can go in or out of the Champions League by a single point.”
