New Inter Coach Walter Mazzarri is the man responsible for the rebirth of Ricky Alvarez, says the tactician’s assistant.
The Argentine has had his problems at San Siro since his arrival from Velez, but he has impressed this term.
“The Coach worked on him psychologically because he likes to talk to his players a lot,” Nicolò Frustalupi told Sky Sport Italia.
“There was then work done on a physical and tactical level. They are all the components that make up a player’s performance.”
The attacking midfielder has appeared in all seven of the club’s League games so far this term, scoring twice in the process.
Frustalupi was also asked about the development of Mateo Kovacic, a player limited to just 272 minutes of Serie A action in 2013-14.
“He was unfortunate to pick up an injury during pre-season when Mazzarri was setting Inter up tactically.
“We’ll just have to wait for him. I don’t think he’s behind the rest of the squad, it’s just a question of tactics.”
