Fiorentina have appealed against the dismissal of Juan Guillermo Cuadrado during the 2-1 loss against Napoli.
The Colombian was booked for two dives, although the second caution looked harsh as replays suggested he should have been awarded a penalty.
The Viola have asked for TV evidence to be examined in order to annul the automatic one-match ban which would see him miss the Milan game this weekend.
“From the TV images you can clearly see the good faith of our footballer,” a club statement read on Thursday.
“He is recognised by all as a player who lives the game with joy and professionalism, who does not fall into the category of divers.
“He follows the example of this club which transmits a line of fair play to all of the squad.”
