Marco Borriello was overjoyed at scoring the goal that put Roma in history. “We’re going to enjoy it.”
The Giallorossi beat Chievo 1-0 this evening to become the first Serie A side ever to win the opening 10 rounds.
“It is the first target achieved, if we want to call it that. It’s satisfying that this Roma side has entered the history books, so we’re going to enjoy it,” the striker told Sky Sport Italia.
Rudi Garcia’s men have conceded only one goal, keeping seven consecutive clean sheets, and are the most prolific side in the League along with Inter on 24.
The last two victories over Udinese and Chievo were particularly striking considering Roma were without Francesco Totti and Gervinho.
“The statistics are impressive. It’s pleasing that everyone is having such a great season and I was the only one missing.
“I scored the decisive goal tonight, but Francesco is the added bonus. When he’s here, the team plays better – we have to be honest!
“Can this team win the Scudetto? We’re travelling fast, but for the moment we’ve taken another step towards Europe and broke further away from fourth place.
“We don’t have much time to celebrate, as on Sunday we’ve got a very complicated game with Torino.”
