Lazio have confirmed that they will soon start discussions over a possible new contract for Hernanes.
The Brazilian’s future has been placed into some doubt given that his present agreement is set to expire in June 2015.
“We have a meeting regarding the contract of Hernanes pencilled in for the next few weeks,” President Claudio Lotito commented.
“Am I hopeful? I’m used to dealing with facts. I don’t bandage up my head before breaking it…”
The international midfielder, 28, joined the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2010 from Sao Paulo for a fee of around €11m.
French giants Paris Saint-Germain have been paired with the player – two goals in nine League games so far in 2013-14 – in recent weeks.
