Davide Ballardini has denied suggestions that he could become the next Sampdoria boss after Delio Rossi’s sacking.
The 52-year-old was given his marching orders on Monday after a poor start to the season for the Bluerchiati.
Initial reports had claimed that Ballardini, Sinisa Mihajlovic and Zdenek Zeman were the favourites to take over at the Marassi, but the former Genoa man has insisted that is not the case.
“There is no truth in those stories, “he told reporters. “I have not had any contact at home.
“No one has asked me to be the Coach of Sampdoria.”
