Cagliari striker Victor Ibarbo has admitted his ‘special’ feeling after being called up to the Colombia squad.
The South American side face Belgium in a friendly on Friday, and the Isolani forward has conceded that it’s a real honour to be named for the national side.
“I am happy to be here,” he told reporters. “To be a part of this group of players is a special thing.
“Especially now that Colombia have the eyes of the world on them.
“I am familiar with Zapata, Armero and Muriel – those who play in Serie A. But I’m also getting on well with the rest of the squad.
“I hope to do in this shirt what I’ve been doing in the Cagliari one – playing with strength and speed.”
