President Luca Campedelli explains he chose to bring in Eugenio Corini because “he loves Chievo and never betrayed it.”
Corini had steered the team to safety as Caretaker Coach last season, but has now been recalled to replace the sacked Giuseppe Sannino.
“We felt it was the right decision to make a change and it was equally right to choose Corini,” said President Campedelli.
“Corini loves Chievo and never betrayed it. He didn’t even turn on Chievo in June when I opted not to keep him in the position and instead chose Sannino.”
Corini played for the Flying Donkeys, scoring 14 goals in 63 games between 1999 and 2003.
