The Gazzetta dello Sport have today named who they consider to be Serie A’s best and worst signings of the summer.
The newspaper has put together two theoretical sides made up of the stars and the flops of the last calciomercato session.
Their best XI contains an Argentine strike pairing of Gonzalo Higuain of Napoli and Juventus’ Carlos Tevez.
It also includes five Roma players after they won their first 10 League games of the campaign.
Turning to their eleven disappointments, Alessandro Matri of Milan and Inter’s Ishak Belfodil are named in a side which also contains Francesco Lodi of Genoa and Roma’s Adem Ljajic.
Top XI: De Sanctis (Roma); Maicon (Roma), Benatia (Roma), Campagnaro (Inter), Vrsaljko (Genoa); Callejon (Napoli), Strootman (Roma), Kaka (Milan), Gervinho (Roma); Tevez (Juventus), Higuain (Napoli).
Flop XI: Padelli (Torino); Wallace (Inter), Felipe (Parma), Novaretti (Lazio), Ziegler (Sassuolo); Schelotto (Sassuolo), Lodi (Genoa), Biglia (Lazio); Belfodil (Inter), Matri (Milan), Ljajic (Roma).
